Features of FreeGait
Following RoboGait, here is another model from the Turkish manufacturer BAMA Technology: FreeGait, a motorized device designed to assist with walking, similar to the Exo Angel Legs M20. It is particularly intended for patients with complete spinal cord injury between the L5 and T3 levels or who retain adequate motor function in their arms in cases of lesions between T3 and C7.The FreeGait system stands out from other models due to its ability to provide a natural and guided sensation of walking on the ground. But unlike traditional harness-based rehabilitation systems, FreeGait goes a step further by providing rehabilitation in a real-world environment. This is intended not only to promote the development of balance but also motor control and muscle strength.Its technology is also based on a combination of motors placed directly on the hip and knee joints. These are linked to state-of-the-art sensors and highly precise control software.
Advanced Features and Therapeutic Monitoring
Freegait is capable of monitoring movements in real time. And because this device measures several operating parameters simultaneously, such as: the number of steps;

Test FreeGait
One study published in November 2024 in the *Journal of Spinal Cord Medicine* compared the effectiveness of FreeGait in combination with conventional therapy to conventional therapy alone in 14 patients with incomplete spinal cord injury.In summary, the results showed a significant improvement in walking and mobility among patients using FreeGait. The control group showed no significant changes. However, this is designed for walking on the ground in clinical settings, so it differs significantly from other devices that some patients use on their own.
